Each year, the Academic Staff Professional Development Committee honors academic staff at Wayne State University through its awards. Nominations for the awards are considered annually, and the awards are presented at the annual spring reception.

Professional Achievement & Outstanding Contributor Rubric

Distinguished Service Rubric

Professional Achievement Award. This award is conferred upon the recipient for demonstrated leadership, significant accomplishment(s) in professional organizations, and presentations and/or publications. It is awarded to academic staff with more than five years of university service.

Distinguished Service Award I. This award is conferred upon the recipient for significant service to students, the university, department and/or community organizations, committees and/or other service beyond job responsibilities. It is awarded to academic staff with five or more years of university service.

Distinguished Service Award II. This award is conferred upon the recipient for significant service to students, the university, department and/or community organizations, committees and/or other service beyond job responsibilities. It is awarded to academic staff with less than five years of university service.

Outstanding Contributor Award. This award is conferred upon the recipient for significant accomplishments during the previous three years, emerging leadership and/or scholarship. It is awarded to academic staff with less than seven years of university service.

Note: Current ASPDC members are not eligible to be nominated for these awards.
