ASPDC Badges

The ASPDC is pleased to announce that we will be offering badging in the 2024-2025 academic year.  More information will be posted soon.  By applying for a digital professional badge, you are able to showcase your new skills on your academic record, LinkedIn, email signature, etc. All digital badges will be stored in a digital backpack and on the ASPDC website.

We will have updated criteria available shortly.   The below information is from the 2022-2023 academic year:

Eligibility

To be eligible for this semester's badge, you needed to have registered for and attended all three of the events in the Change and Transition Management series. In some instances, some attendees did not pre-register. In that instance, you were registered; however, moving forward this will not be the case. Attendance was taken at each event; but, we recognize that busy schedules or life can get in the way. Therefore, we are allowing for applicants to have missed one session in the series. You will need to review the recording (if available) and any relevant resources to be able to complete your reflection. Resources for each workshop can be found on our Current Events page. If you missed more than one live session, you are unfortunately ineligible to receive the badge.

Application

The application (found at the link below) consists of a required 500-750 word reflection that details what you learned from all three of the events. You are submitting one reflection that covers all three events. To assist you in writing your response, guiding questions are provided. As part of the application, we ask that you upload a PFD or Word document that does not have your name on it.

All the resources for each of the workshops can be found on our Current Events page. You can reference these materials to refresh your memory or if you missed one of the sessions.

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Change and Transition Management badge is Friday January 20, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Review Process

Applications will undergo a blind review process by the six voting members of APSPDC. The process is detailed below:
  1. The ASPDC Chair pulls all applications, ensuring all reflections are deidentified.
  2. The ASPDC Chair assigns each reflection an alternative number ID for voting members to use during their review.
  3. The ASPDC Chair shares all deidentified reflections with the six voting members to review and assess using a rubric (see attached).
  4. The scores from all six voting members are averaged to determine a final score. Applicants who earn between 12 and 16 points will be awarded a digital badge.
  5. The ASPDC Chair matches the alternative number ID back with the application to arrive at a final list of those who have and have not received the badge.
  6. Applicants will be notified in February of the results.
