The ASPDC is pleased to announce that we have designed and implemented a digital badge professional development series for Academic Staff. By attending the themed event series, completing a reflection and application, Academic Staff are able to earn a digital badge to showcase their new skills on their academic record, LinkedIn, email signature, etc. All digital badges will be stored in a digital backpack and on this ASPDC website.

Change and Transition Management Badge | Fall 2022

Earners of this badge are able to describe how change and transition management are key for maintaining relevance and adaptability in the rapidly evolving higher education landscape. Earners are able to describe techniques for "managing up to provide" supervisory support; discuss predictions for the competing and complementary priorities for colleges and universities; and apply the concept of polarity management to deal with conflict at work using a "both/and" framework to promote personal and institutional growth and transformation.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Badge | Winter 2023

Earners of this badge are able to describe and employ strategies for preparing students to thrive in a diverse working environment.  Earners posess further abilities in applying a framework for recognizing and addressing microaggressions and passive aggressive behaviors and how to interrupt them in the workplace. Earners of this badge are also able to discuss methods for fostering an environment that centers cultural awareness and belonging.
